Rules for Playing Let It Ride
The game of Let It Ride is almost the same as the 5 card stud poker. However, unlike 5 card stud, you are not playing against other players, but you are simply fighting against the dealer or the house. Learning how to play the game is easy. If you have a background on other poker games, the hands are still the same with the exception of the rules applied to the game itself.
The Basic Rules to Familiarize Yourself with
In Let It Ride, a player has to play three bets on the table that are of equal amount. The dealer will then hand out 3 cards that are placed face down to each player including himself. Without looking at his hand, the dealer will discard one of his cards. The players can only look at their cards when the dealer finishes handing out the cards. When you look at your cards, you have the option of taking back your first bet or as the name of the game goes, let it ride. When you are uncertain of your cards, you can always get your first bet back. Drag your cards on against the table just like when you get hit in Blackjack. Your first bet will then be handed back to you but will not be included in the remaining bets. So if you win or lose the hand the bet that you just took back will not be included. If you believe that your hand may win all you need to do is slide your cards under your bet.
After all the players have decided on their action, the dealer will then turn over one of his remaining cards. Each player will then have 3 cards on their hand with the 2 cards of the dealer. The objective here is to make a good hand possible by combining your hand and the dealer’s. The same process of choosing between taking back your second bet or letting it ride will occur. If in the event you left your first bet on the table and now wishes to take your second bet back, then the remaining bets will be kept on the table.
Be sure to place your card under the bets when you have received your bets back, otherwise the dealer will assume that you are letting your bet ride. After this, the dealer will reveal his last card for players to use to make a hand.
Determining the Winner of the Let It Ride Game
The winner is determined with the player who has the best hand in the group. If you manage to let your three bets remain on the table and you won the round, you will be paid the same amount. However, if you take back one or two of your bets, and you win the game, you will only be rewarded with your third bet. In the event that no one wins during the game of Let It Ride, the dealer will then take your bet.
